Concert Review: Fitz & The Tantrums Bring Electrifying Tour To Boston
/The live show from Fitz and The Tantrums was anything but ordinary this past Sunday night. The energetic stage presence of Michael Fitzpatrick, or “Fitz,” set the tone for the night. He wasn’t afraid to move around the stage, even jumping up onto the drum riser and leaping off. Fitz and The Tantrums brought their characteristic, unique, warm sound. They primarily performed songs from their hit 2013 album “More Than Just a Dream,” however, the best part about this show was the unexpected. James King unleashed soulful saxophone and flute solos that you won’t find on the record. They even broke out into a cover of “Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)” about halfway through the night. Audience members received bracelets that lit up on contact, and as the crowd clapped along to the rhythm, the room lit up in unison with the flashing neon heart above the stage. The excitement and surprises brought to the stage by Fitz and The Tantrums made for a very memorable experience.
